The problem
Social proof only works if people can believe it
“Priya from Pune just bought this” helps a visitor who is still deciding — as long as Priya is real. A social proof plugin that runs on someone else’s server has to be told what happened, meters your traffic, and puts its script on your checkout.
We wanted a social proof plugin that already knows what happened, because it reads your own WooCommerce orders, course enrolments, memberships, donations and form entries. And one that says nothing when there is nothing true to say.
At any setting
Three things Proofly will never do
- Write a review or a rating. Reviews come from WooCommerce, your comments, or testimonials you paste in.
- Inflate a count. A live visitor or sales count below your minimum shows nothing at all.
- Pass off samples as real. Sample activity is off by default and always tagged “Simulated”.

Proofly is the social proof plugin that turns real events on your WordPress site into small, well-made notifications — and into proof inside the page itself.
- Real events first. Orders, sign-ups, enrolments, memberships, donations and form entries are read directly, with the product, its image and its link.
- Proof in the page, not only over it. A block and a shortcode put real activity into the HTML: search engines can read it, it needs no JavaScript and it doesn’t shift your layout.
- It matches your theme. On activation Proofly reads your theme’s colours and builds a notification style to match, checking the contrast as it goes.
- Zero-JavaScript mode. One switch renders everything on the server and loads no script at all.
- No pageview cap. Nothing is metered through somebody else’s server, so traffic spikes cost nothing.
- It tells you whether it worked. When a visitor clicks a notification and then orders, the campaign is credited with the order and its value.
- It tests two wordings honestly. Half your visitors see each, and Proofly won’t name a winner until there is enough data.
- Private by design. Names are shortened to “Priya S.” before they are saved. No IP, email or account ID is stored with an event.

How Proofly works in four steps
Everything in this social proof plugin lives under one Proofly menu: Dashboard, Campaigns, Results, Inbox and Settings. Nothing appears on your site until you publish a campaign.
Activate and run the setup wizard
Three short steps take you from a blank install to a notification on screen. Proofly finds the plugins you already use and starts recording their events.

Eighteen presets cover every notification type in the social proof plugin, with wording, position and timing already set. Presets are created as drafts, so nothing goes live by accident.
Edit it with a live preview

Order attribution
See how many orders followed a click
A social proof plugin should prove it works. When a visitor clicks a notification and orders within your window (seven days by default), that campaign is credited with the order and its value. It is worked out on your own server from your own WooCommerce data — no pixel, no analytics account. An order paid later, by bank transfer or cash on delivery, is credited when it is paid.
Split testing
Test two wordings, and get an honest answer
Type a second wording and half your visitors see it. Each visitor keeps the same version, so nobody sees both. Proofly compares the two on orders (or clicks before there are orders) and says “not enough data yet” until the difference is more than chance.

Choose from three layouts (card, bar, pill), nine positions, light, dark or automatic colours, and animations that respect reduced-motion settings — so the social proof plugin looks like part of your theme.
Inbox
Leads, reviews and feedback in one place
Addresses and requests from the email collector and request form, the testimonials you add, and the emoji and 0–10 answers with their average — all on one Inbox screen, with a CSV export. Leads can be sent on to Mailchimp, a CRM or a spreadsheet through Zapier, Make or your own URL, signed so the receiver can check them.

Questions about the Proofly social proof plugin
Does Proofly work with a page cache?
Yes. Nothing about a campaign is printed into your page HTML. The Proofly script asks for its notifications over the WordPress REST API, and that answer is cached by page and device type, never per visitor, so WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache and Cloudflare all work normally.
Will this social proof plugin slow my site down?
The stylesheet is about 3 KB and the script about 4 KB, both gzipped, with no jQuery and nothing render-blocking. Turn on zero-JavaScript mode and there is no script at all.
Will this social proof plugin ever show fake activity?
Not to your visitors. By default Proofly only shows things that really happened. It can make sample activity for a staging site, a demo or a shop that has not opened yet, but that is off by default and always tagged “Simulated”. At any setting it will not write a review or a rating, inflate a count or a visitor number, or claim that sample activity was verified.
Why does my campaign show nothing?
Almost always because there is nothing real to show yet, which is how it is meant to work. Notifications are also hidden from logged-in administrators by default. Use “Preview my site” to see your site the way a visitor does, and the health check on the Proofly dashboard tells you which of the usual causes applies.
How does Proofly know an order came from a notification?
When a visitor clicks a notification, the campaign and the time are kept in their browser (local storage, not a cookie). If they order within the window you choose (seven days by default), the order-received page tells your own server which campaign to credit, using the order key WooCommerce issued. Your server checks the order is real and has not been counted already. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
What happens when an order is refunded?
A WooCommerce order that moves to refunded, cancelled or failed is withdrawn, so nobody is told about a sale that no longer exists (see WooCommerce order statuses). An order for a private, draft or scheduled product still shows, but the product is called “a product”.
Do I need a cookie banner for Proofly?
Not for Proofly. Names are shortened to “Priya S.” before they are saved, no IP address, email or account ID is stored with an event, and the live visitor count uses a random token that identifies nobody and is deleted within the hour. Proofly also adds suggested wording to your privacy policy and supports WordPress’s personal data export and erase tools.
Which plugins does Proofly work with?
This social proof plugin works with WooCommerce, SureCart, Contact Form 7, WPForms (including Lite), Fluent Forms, Gravity Forms, Tutor LMS, LearnPress, LearnDash, MemberPress, GiveWP and WordPress itself (new registrations and comments). Any other platform that can send JSON can post events to a webhook, and developers can record an event with one function call.
Do I need an account or an API key?
No. Proofly is a self-hosted social proof plugin: it runs on your own WordPress server. There is no account to create, no API key, no monthly pageview allowance and no third-party script on your checkout.
